The article discusses the current issues of providing quality social services to persons with disabilities living in Zugdidi municipality, with the aim of improving their physical and social condition and integrating them into society. In particular, attention is focused on the problematic situations such as: tax benefits identification of persons with disabilities, effective coordination between service providers and the target population, and employment of persons with disabilities. The article includes practical ways of realizing each of these goals. It concludes it is possible to establish more effective practices of caring for persons with disabilities, which will be based on the financial empowerment of the beneficiaries.

As the world is entering a new phase of development enormous transformations are currently taking place in learning paradigms and practices. Every teacher wants to use the appropriate mix of innovative training technologies and methodologies to attract today’s students and to enhance the effectiveness of teaching. For that reason, blended learning or “Augmented Learning” has appeared. Augmented learning describes learning that „augments‟ or extends the traditional formal education, blending into it and using the new digital media based on the internet and social Media. The aim of the paper is to present augmented reality for the future blended education and to look at blogging while teaching English as a second language in Georgia. Blogging is becoming increasingly popular as a language learning tool throughout the world recently. The article gives an overview of blogging websites, suggests why you might want to use them, and gives some practical advice on setting up blogs for use with your own classes. The article also presents findings from the survey about utilizing blogs by Georgian English Language Teachers while teaching reading.

The Impact of Covid-19 on the Economy of Georgia and Neighboring Countries

Given the context of the devastating socio-economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic being acutely felt in the entire world, the present study examines the processes taking place in the economies of Georgia and its bordering countries during the pandemic. The article analyzes the fact that in 2020 the GDP of the stated region of study decreased significantly, which was completely compensated the following year, and there was an increase in most countries. Furthermore, the peculiarity of Georgia and its neighboring countries in the research period is impacted by the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation after the annexation and occupation of territory in Ukraine in 2014 and the low oil prices in 2014-2021, as well as the record high prices imposed by Russia in February 2022 due to the full-scale war in Ukraine. Taking these sanctions into account, the economic development prospects of the Russian Federation have decreased, which certainly has a impact on the development opportunities of the entire region.

An analysis of GDP of Georgia, GDP by regions, GDP of the Russian Federation, GDP of the regions of the Russian Federation bordering Georgia, GDP per capita, GDP of the Republic of Turkey, and GDP per capita in dynamics are included in the article.

It is concluded that the integration of modern digital technologies has been the key factor in keeping business in a more or less healthy state and reducing the spread of negative economic consequences of Covid-19.

Time is the most important resource of any society. Time is limited, that is why success of any person, business or economy in general mostly depends on proper time planning. Effective time planning starting from family farming, time management in a firm and correct understanding of the phenomenon of time in macroeconomics is an important determining factor of the current standard of living in a country. Maximizing the understanding of time as the most limited, non-renewable resource leads to success for both an individual and a company. According to one of the basic principles of economics, the standard of living depends on the ability of producing goods and services in a country so that labor of those who produce more in the same time is more productive. Therefore, productivity, economic growth, and standard of living are inseparable from a universal resource such as time. The article argues it is necessary to connect time as an economic resource to its social meaning, as a resource for human physical and spiritual development. Time management within a firm or company should be able to use time effectively, which will be helpful for a person to have a life outside of work. And since this is not always guaranteed, the state should create guarantees of human labor and rest, to ensure spiritual development with the help of economic and legal levers that are available in the market economy.

Ginkgo Biloba Morpho-Biological Features and Healing Properties

The paper examines the morpho-biological features and medicinal properties of Ginkgo biloba.

Observation of the introduced plant reveal, Ginkgo biloba which is growing in Zugdidi Botanical Garden in Sector I N36 and N41, has a height of 35-40 meters, diameter 80-90 cm, stem projection 10X11m, 12X14m, age 133 years, looks healthy, has a normally developed beautiful stem, fan-shaped leaves, dichotomous veins and straight, mossy trunk.

In 2022, flowering began on April 12 and ended on April 28. Fruit ripening began on August 27 and ended on September 29, while the shedding of leaves started on September 25 and ended on October 5. The specimens are characterized by abundant seed fertility. They give self-seeding, which are mostly found under the stem of the mother plant. Their germination begins in the first decade of March (???). The seeds are covered with a thick skin.

In 1930, V. Mirzashvili (1934) determined their age in Zugdidi Botanical Garden as 40-50 years, thus sometime between 1880-1890 can be considered as the date of their introduction.

There are various medicinal uses and beneficial properties of Gingko biloba, including: an antioxidant effect that affects the blood vessels of the brain and its extract is known as a natural brain stimulant. Furthermore, Gingko biloba normalizes metabolic processes, which improves the quality of life and as one gets older, it plays an important role against stress and depression. It is also used to improve blood vessels, speech, memory and hearing, while its extract significantly improves long-distance vision and can reverse retinal damage.

Observation of Ginkgo biloba introduced in Zugdidi Botanical Garden has proved to be a very valuable decorative tree. Its original leaf shape, which is light green in spring and summer, yellow and reddish in autumn, gives more beauty to the ornamental plant. It can be widely used for greening parks, residential areas, and most importantly, it has significant medicinal uses.
