Abstract

The article concerns the interrelationship between the lyricist and his poetic alter egos in Baratashvili’s poetry, based on several poems as well as excerpts from the personal letters. The method of comparison and analysis is used. This reasoning reveals the following problems:

  • Identity between Romanticism and old Georgian literature which is expressed in the likeness of human cultural ideal and other comprehensive
  • The civil position of the poet and the image of the society around him;
  • The concept of freedom and love is interpreted in a new way.
